Janae Myers is a passionate advocate and active member of the DBSA Associate Board, where she plays a critical role in fundraising and advancing the mission of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. Her commitment to mental health advocacy stems from a deeply personal experience: in 2019, a close family member was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, exposing Janae to the stigma and systemic barriers that individuals with mood disorders face. This experience fueled her dedication to educating herself, supporting her loved one, and becoming a devoted ally in the mental health community. Janae envisions a world with universal access and equity for all, free from systemic, attitudinal, or physical barriers. She believes in the power of collective action to create an inclusive and equitable future for those living with mental health conditions.
Janae spent time with a peer-based organization focused on educating about and promoting peer support through community engagement and fundraising, an experience that informs her work with the DBSA Associate Board.
In addition to her work with DBSA, Janae serves as the Director of Development at New Hope Community, Inc., where she leverages over a decade of expertise in business development, strategic planning, and integrated marketing to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. As a key leader at New Hope Community, she drives community engagement, cultivates donor relationships, and integrates marketing and communication strategies to amplify the organization’s impact.
Janae holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communication and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations from Marist College.
